11+ Intensive Revision Course
The 11+ Intensive Revision Course is designed to consolidate knowledge and understanding of the 11+ key concepts and also refine examination technique. The 11+ exams take place in September, immediately after the summer holidays. During the summer holidays, it can be difficult for children to continue their revision at the required pace and levels. In many cases, children begin to become nervous and lose confidence as the date of the exam gets closer. Our 11+ Intensive Revision Course will run from Monday 27th August 2018 till Friday 31st August 2018. The classes will start at 9am and finish at 1pm.

The course is focused on revising and revisiting all four 11+ topics, numeracy, non verbal reasoning, English comprehension/literacy and verbal reasoning. These four topics will be covered on seperate days in detail to enhance and improve the student's understanding and knowledge. Please see below for an outline of the 11+ Intensive Revision Course.
Day 1 - Numeracy
There are many CEM specific 11+ numeracy topics, the day will be organised to revise and revisit these topics and key concepts. The day will be focused on the more difficult topics that appear in this section of the 11+ exam. There will also be time allocated to practise mental arithmetic for speed and accuracy.
Day 2 - Non Verbal Reasoning
Day 2 will be focused on revising CEM specific 11+ non verbal reasoning topics. To effectively answer 11+ non verbal reasoning exam questions, students need to be highly skilled in identifying relationships between objects, spotting similarities and differences between shapes and patterns and recognising visual sequences. We will aim to identify the relevant exam techniques required to answer questions accurately and within a given time frame.
Day 3 - English Comprehension and Literacy
Day 3 will be focused on addressing core skills required for the literacy and comprehension sections of the 11+ exam. We will look at techniques to ensure that spelling, grammar and sentence structure are of the highest standard. We also help students identify methods to effectively plan and structure a piece of writing. In addition to this, we will carry out exercises that encourage the use of an extensive and interesting vocabulary in order to write a creative piece of writing.
Day 4 - Verbal Reasoning
Day 4 will be focused on revising CEM specific 11+ verbal reasoning topics. Students must have logical deduction skills, be able to decipher codes and have a strong understanding of the techniques required to solve problems. We will aim to identify the relevant exam techniques required to answer questions accurately and within a given time frame.
Day 5 - Final Preparation and Mock Exam
Day 5 will begin with a presentation that highlights practical tips that students can use in the exam to help them to answer the exam questions in the most effective manner and how best to utilise their time during the exam. Following on from this, the students will complete a mock exam, the results of the exam will be available by email within 5 working days.
